Can I join the U.S. army with a recent broken ankle?
I broke my ankle about a month ago and the doc says it is healing up just fine and I should be able to run, jump, ect., in 3 weeks. I do not have any pins or plate or hardware in it and it feels good to walk on right now. I really want to join the Army. I either want to be a combat medic, infantryman, cav scout, M1-A1 operator, or Apache/Blackhawk helicopter flyer/gunman. Will my broken ankle prevent my chances of joining? I talked to my recruter and he said I will be able to join with no problem. I just want some extra advice and assurence.
As long as your doctor OKs you, you'll be fine. It is also helpful to get a note from the doctor saying that you have no restrictions because of the injury.
