What was the fastest, most endurable and overall best fighter aircraft during WWII?
Was it the RAF Supermarine Spitfire? or was it the German Messerschmitt Bf 109?
The deHavilland Mosquito by far.
It was the fastest warplane of WWII from its introduction in 1940 to 1944. It was way faster at low level than the 109, 190, Spitfire, Thunderbolt, or Mustang. The only aircraft that could intercept it at high speeds was the Me 262.
It could be a fighter, a bomber, a night fighter, a pathfinder, a photo reconnaissance plane, and a secure hack for military VIPs, or pretty much anything else.
It bombed a radio station in Berlin while Herman Goering was making a propaganda speech in 1943. This was Goering's response:
"In 1940 I could at least fly as far as Glasgow in most of my aircraft, but not now! It makes me furious when I see the Mosquito. I turn green and yellow with envy."

A good movie with the Mossie is 633 squadron, one of my favs.
Although the 262 was faster, it was plagued by numerous difficulties. More 262s were lost to technical malfunctions than the enemy and they simply flew to fast to effectively intercept the enemy (the Americans found this out in Korea, which is why they used F-51s and F-82s at the start of the war).
