Be Admired Without Appearing Desperate: Has it ever annoyed you that women admire the show-offs? The jerks? Do you sometimes feel like Mr "Nice Guy" . . . ? Well you too can show off and be admired without looking like a jerk!
By showing off I mean you must show her that you have expertise in several areas. Knowledge is power and women love powerful men – they are just drawn to them.
Let's get down to basics, if you are an expert at motor racing take her along. Whether your strengths lie in mountain climbing or kayaking, playing the tuba or making model aeroplanes make sure she sees you in action.
If you know about football, enough to provide a running commentary take her along. I went to the football with a guy who used to play; he was able to give me a running commentary just like a radio commentator. I was most impressed not with the game but his expertise.
Sue came to visit me at Entre Nous Dating Agency to report in about Graham she had recently met. Here's her story:
I wasn't at all interested in Graham but he invited me to go Kayaking. I had never been kayaking and really wanted to go but not with him. However, the thought of kayaking won, I accepted his invitation.
When he came to pick me up, he had all the gear and was really well organised. He knew what he was doing and we had such a good time. By the end of the afternoon I really liked him. We have been an item ever since.
Graham won over Sue with his strength, masculinity and power. What did Sue say? "He knew what he was doing." Most people like to learn new things and will admire the teacher, the person with the knowledge. Graham had the knowledge; knowledge is power.
What else did she say? He was well organised, a masculine trait. No one admires a muddler (unless he is a philosopher – he can get away with it); so make sure you are organised. A good organiser is a planner. A little planning will earn you many brownie points.
And what else did Sue say? "We had such a good time." That is the key, even if you were a muddler , not organised and not knowledgeable you could still get away with it if you can make her laugh and can laugh at yourself, are fun to be with and have a great sense of humour
Decide what you do best, entertain her or offer expertise. Either one will work but if you can manage both you are sure to win out. If you don't win her over, put it down to lack of practise and keep practising until you feel very confident at whatever you do well.
You don't have to take her to the football or kayaking, if art is your passion. If you can articulate your interest in art she will be very impressed. Most women admire the guy who knows all the actors, film directors and producers of a film, has read reviews and can discuss the production of the film. If this is you, take her to the movies and show off!
A final word, be aware of your special special strengths. Make a list to remind yourself and feel good about them.
