Painting Plastic Plane Models for Pros?
I've run into some trouble with hand-painted parts on my B-52 scale model. It seems as though the Testors paint doesn't sit evenly, or thickens up, causing irregularities in the surface. I know most pro modelers use an airbrush for painting, but do they airbrush ALL pieces for their models? Or are there other types of hand brush paints for models I should be using? What percentage of a scale model do you airbrush? Any tips or tricks/techniques for me? Thanks all!
Well, as a starting point - how good are you at thinning the paint and how many brushes do you own for picking up the right amount of paint?
A high quality airbrush is capable of extremely fine control - although you have to know how to adjust the paint thickness there also and know how to use the tool.
