whats the best wood to use for a model railway?
Go the flying scotsman 00 Guage hornby train set for christmas - want to get a board for it. Need help - been on plenty of websites now want opinions!
I've been quite happy with 1/4 inch plywood (birch) laid over a framework of 1x4 pine boards to add rigidity (and to run your wiring through).
For my N-scale railroad projects, I've actually used 1/8 inch birch plywood (also over a 1x4 inch framework) without ANY problems.
